Country Houses of Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.  

Based on lovely Rutland Water in England’s smallest county, whose motto “multum in parvo” (much in little) sums up its appeal, this delightful tour visits the finest country houses of Boughton House, Burghley House, Deene Park House and Grimsthorpe Castle. Accompanied by Nicholas Merchant, Ex-Chairman of the West Yorkshire Art Fund Fundraising Committee, who will draw on his expertise in antiques to deliver a convivial few days exploring some of the great country houses of the East Midlands, complete with illustrative and illuminating lectures.

The south-eastern region of the Republic of Ireland encompasses some of the Grandest Houses and most fertile and picturesque gardens in the country

  • Powerscourt whose gardens have been voted 3rd best gardens in the world.
  • Currghmore in the company of Julian Walton an historian and archivist who is currently doing research on Curraghmore for Lord Waterford.
  • Castletown, the flagship project of the Irish Georgian Society and learn about their restoration work

The Arts Society Team Gold took part in Maggie’s Culture Crawl, a 10 mile night walk around Edinburgh to raise money for Maggie’s Centre. All adffiliated Societies were invited to join them.
